Lt. Lama tr'Ehweia | SEC BOT 18-May-24 02:50 PM
Here to take charge and take names, Lama was very thankful for being half Betazoid because at the very least he could literally 'follow the vibes'. He did have to awkwardly feel the walls to get there, but hey he was alive. Lama was also dressed in his underwear and a tank top because he simply could not rummage through his closet to find his uniform. Well, hopefully this was good enough. It still hadn't clicked for him that the UT was down though since for once in his life he wasn't talking on his way to his post.

Popping out of a panel dressed in uniform, Vovvi immediately moved to tie her hair up to the best of her ability. Her priority had been getting there, so... "Arrain Ehweia," she greeted, speaking in Rihannsu and hoping he understood, "... you're underdressed."

"Yeah, you try getting dressed in the dark! I'm lucky I was able to even use the washroom," Lama said with a laugh. He was happy to hear Vovvi's voice even if he couldn't see her properly. "I got all the important bits covered and hey, when the station needs saving you gotta do what you gotta do! Isn'T that what they mean when they say 'not all heroes wear capes'?" Lama said with a giggle. That was not what that phrase meant and the true meaning was clearly lost on Lama but whatever, he was here, ass... Skinny, body rectangular, ready to save a station.

Vovvi raised a judgemental eyebrow, but said nothing more on the matter. "I was a Security officer before I was Intelligence. I thought I would be most useful here..." Huh, the thought of her in Starfleet yellow wasn't exactly a great one. She preferred the purple.. "Is there anything I can do?"

"Oh really? I was in intelligence before I was in security, yo we did swapsies!" Lama said in a much more upbeat tone than he probably should have, given the nature of his previous 'intelligence' job. In his defense, he did work for Republic intelligence for a time! "And... I think we need to make sure people aren't like.. going wild and doing crimes."

Her expression visibly tightened at the mention, a sick feeling pooling in her gut. "Right..." Anyway, there's work to be done. "Our best bet is to check on the promenade, then? Or the civilian quarters?"

"I can do civvie quarters and you can do promenade? I will make sure the place is super secure, you know, security is my life," Lama said, completely oblivious to the fact that his previous comment was probably not the best thing he could have said to Vovvi at a time like this. They were already without lights or the comforts of technology, Vovvi probably did not want to be reminded that she was in a room with a former tal shiar officer of 10 years.

Vovvi nodded and headed back to The Tubes. To the promenade!

Things seemed to be underway in Science and Engineering to get things fixed. That meant that it was the perfect time for other things to un fix, right? Without warning, a sudden feeling of weightlessness swept over everyone here. Objects began floating. People began floating. It would appear that the gravity had turned off: a sign that the life support system was losing more power.

Out of nowhere the entire station went dark. There was no more emergency lighting, an absent void inside; nothing but the view from the windows displaying the swirl of the combined ion storm and inversion field outside. It was almost peaceful - until suddenly, everything lit up. Any external windows were suddenly illuminated in hues of greens, blues, and purples as the station's shields onlined, inverted, and interacted with the storm. Up and down the station a mini-aurora had formed, giving everyone the view of a truly awe-inspiring, once-in-a-lifetime phenomenon. The aurora was also accompanied by another source of light. A familiar hum suddenly kicked to life; the usual background noise of the station's engines powering on once more. Consoles lit up with a blue 'backup LCARS' screen, monitors began to chime, and both objects and people fell down to the ground as the gravity came back online again. If anyone's cybernetics had been made non-functional they now powered back on - as did any Androids who had been completely oblivious of the situation! For Liberated Borg officers, it was like a surge of energy as nanoprobes started to work at their usual rate and implants worked once more. It would appear that whatever had happened, the station was now shielded from the storm. Somewhere on 777, some rather brilliant minds had fixed things.
